What are you reading?

I wanted to create a forum where we can start talking about the good or bad books we are reading... this will be a fun forum to talk about what we read and make connections between books and ourselves...

lots of text to self, text to text and text to world connections to be made....

happy posting...

Right now i am reading "monster" It is a pretty good book but its very hard to follow. All of the close ups and things like that interrupt with the story and its hard to stay focused(i know that because in indy reading i only read 2 pages) i think i will choose another book monday.

I think you may really like Monster if you stick it out. It's a pretty good book. Maybe what you can try doing to make it less confusing is skip the stage directions... I can give you some tips to make it less confusing.

Have you ever read the book called No laughter here?? It's a really good book. At first I thought that it was about being racist but it wasn't. It was about this girl named Victoria and she had to go to Nigeria (AFRICA) because of her coming of age ceremony. Then when she came back from the ceremony, she wasn't feeling that well. Something bad happened, Victoria got circumsised. No wonder this author got an honor or reward but the author was telling the readers that it is such a terrible thing when you get circumsised or someone else does. ~Christina:)
